First I have to say direct primary care services such as Promina are an ABSOLUTE gift in an of itself for people like me who cannot afford health insurance or even for those with high copays or deductibles. Promina’s set up is you pay a set amount monthly and you go as much or as little as you need, only paying extra for certain things like lab work or medications. They also have their own in house pharmacy offering a lot of low cost medications.I am a newer patient with Promina and have already been impressed numerous times. I have health anxiety and the staff has been SO nice every time I speak with them, as well as informative and caring. Communication is super easy whether calling or using a cool app that lets you chat directly with your doctor.Just today I received an email from them and within that email was information about seasonal allergies. I am a long time sufferer of allergies and this email to patients had a WEALTH of information in it just sent to me for free! Typically it would be hard to get information or tips and tricks about how to manage allergies with medication or home remedies without making an appointment and seeing your doctor. Here at Promina, I get an email with all of that or I can send a message through the app and ask for advice.I have been beyond pleased with the care I have gotten and would recommend my closest friends and loved ones to Promina whether they have insurance or not!

I love, love, love this place. A friend explained direct primary care to me a couple years ago. I hope these kinds of practices continue to grow big time. Promina combines an old school doctor relationship with new tech to stay in constant touch on a very personal level - all without insurance.For my situation, I now combine this with a critical care insurance policy to keep me covered in the event of an urgent hospital visit or a surgery. They even have a small, very affordable pharmacy on site.Dr. Lanier has shown a willingness to pull out a scalpel or resolve many medical issues when insurance-driven primary docs would send you out for specialists. He certainly reaches out when needed, but his role is greater than any primary care doc I’ve ever seen.

I was looking for a doctors office that didn’t require me to have health insurance because at the moment I don’t have any. My daughter also sees a pediatrician who doesn’t require her to have health insurance either just to pay a monthly subscription fee, which we enjoy b/c of the benefits that come along with that. The first doctor I saw was Dr. Newell, she is a great doctor, she listens to my concerns, was able to get me on a great medication with a mild side effect that went away and we also created a weight loss plan together. Recently, I had the flu and after 3 weeks I was not getting better, I needed to be seen asap.. Dr. Lanier was able to get me in the office, get me a diagnosis and a medication within an hour. This is what I want out of my care, doctors that want to help me, doctors who listen to me. Thank you to Promina health for being exactly what I need, 10/10 recommend!

I love how quick the Doctors at Promina Health are to respond to questions, medication refill request and just general communications through their Spruce app. When you need to see a Doctor, they respect your time and bring you back for your appointment right on time. They are friendly, really listen to you as well as respect your wishes as to how you to proceed if a referral needs to be made for a specialist. I truly can’t say enough good things about Promina Health. I am so glad I switched my health care provider. Paying the monthly fee is a no brainer because it’s comforting to know you will get seen quickly but without all the cost associated with an expensive urgent care visit or the long wait to see many of the GP’s in the Wilmington area these days. I am a very happy “patient!”

A friend told me about Promina Health and Dr. Lanier. I can't afford insurance so put off a lot of things that I should have had done years ago. Dr. Lanier welcomed me and gave me excellent help to address these issues. I was able to get tests done that with insurance would have costed $400-$600 for $34. He takes his time with his patients and you can contact him at any time with an app and he responds promptly. I love this practice. Kristin is always friendly and happy too when you walk in. I recommend this practice to everyone!!
